Is your skin adjusting well to the changing autumn weather?

With autumn's arrival, I've noticed my skin feeling drier and more dehydrated. I've also been dealing with increased sensitivity, redness, and breakouts on my face. It's a bit perplexing because, despite using the same skincare products I used during the summer, my face feels dry and somewhat rough. Here are some personal skincare tips I focus on during the autumn season: 1. Keeping Hydrated and Moisturized: As the air becomes drier and the wind picks up during autumn and winter, our skin tends to lose moisture, leading to dryness. In contrast to the "refreshing" summer skincare routine, fall and winter call for extra hydration and moisturization. When choosing hydrating and moisturizing products, I tend to go for ingredients like amino acids, hyaluronic acid, and panthenol, known for their excellent moisturizing properties. I also pair these with a lightweight, natural nourishing oil to help my skin retain moisture and prevent it from losing water. 2. Strengthening and Stabilizing: Autumn's dry weather, fluctuating temperatures, and humidity changes can make our skin more prone to sensitivity. Additionally, during the autumn and winter months, our skin's natural exfoliation process tends to slow down, leading to clogged pores and acne. This makes it essential to promptly repair and stabilize our skin to prevent further issues. I recommend avoiding products that contain alcohol, fragrances, or highly allergenic preservatives. Personally, I opt for skincare products containing soothing and repairing ingredients like centella asiatica, saccharide isomerate, witch hazel, urea, ceramides, and purslane to maintain a balanced and stable complexion. Reducing the consumption of seafood and spicy foods can also help minimize skin sensitivity. 3. Nourishing and Combating Aging: After a whole summer of sun exposure, you may notice issues like pigmentation and fine lines on your skin. During autumn and winter, when the earth's atmosphere is thinner and UV rays penetrate more easily, it's crucial to provide adequate protection to your skin. Personally, I use skincare products that are safe and effective, such as niacinamide and licorice extract to inhibit melanin production, vitamin C derivatives to promote melanin exfoliation, and ingredients like arbutin and niacinamide to address pigmentation concerns. Additionally, I incorporate more vegetables, pears, grapes, and silver ear mushrooms into my diet during the autumn and winter seasons to boost my skin's vitamin C and vitamin E intake, which promotes collagen synthesis and keeps my skin moisturized. Lastly, remember to use physical sun protection to shield your skin from UV damage. These are my autumn skincare recommendations. Please keep in mind that these are personal tips and not professional advice. If you have severe skin issues, it's always a good idea to consult a dermatologist for proper treatment.
